On Wednesday, Strategies for Children visited the State House. It was a chance to go behind the scenes, taking a tour and talking to State Senator Sal DiDomenico and his staff.

“The BIG message for the day was ‘we belong,’ ” Amy O’Leary, Strategies executive director, says. “We belong at the State House, we belong in meetings with policy makers, we belong in hearing rooms.”

The group who visited included members of Strategies for Children’s Advocacy Network, as well as Strategies’ staff members and interns, and fellows from the Early Childhood Policy Pathways Fellowship.

“Many folks commented that they had walked by the State House, but had never been inside,” O’Leary says. “We need to go inside!”

Here’s a photo summary of the day.
