Happy birthday to The 9:30 Call! It has been six years of connection, compassion, and sharing ideas.
On yesterday’s call, we reflected on the last six years. And at the end of the week, The 9:30 Call will be hosted by The Boston Foundation for a Coffee and Conversation event. You can register here.

Here’s the schedule for the rest of the week:
Tuesday, March 17
MeMo with Aditi Subramaniam, Director, Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Policy, Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children and Christy Moulin, Director, Center for Early Childhood, The Home for Little Wanderers. MeMo is short for “Meeting the moment.” We know it is often exhausting for early educators to keep infant and early childhood mental health needs in mind. Aditi and Christy will hold space for sharing and processing what it means to support children and families through very trying times. While we cannot solve all the problems, we will bring some resources and most importantly bring deep appreciation for how hard this field is working to cover families facing political trauma in our communities.
Wednesday, March 18
🎤︎ Sharing the Mic(rophone) is a recurring segment on The 9:30 Call dedicated to amplifying the voices of those working with children and families every day. The 9:30 Call began in March 2020 as a platform to facilitate vital, real-time feedback loops among educators, advocates, funders, and policymakers. Over the past five years, we have built connections across the Commonwealth, and a community has emerged committed to continuous learning, understanding, and growth. There is no scheduled guest speaker, so we have plenty of time for you to share your insights, questions, and updates to help ensure policy decisions are grounded in the real, lived experiences of educators, providers, and families. Everyone is welcome!
Thursday, March 19
Sarah Sian, Workforce Development Specialist, Department of Early Education and Care will share more about the Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Loan Repayment Program, the first state loan repayment program created exclusively for early education and care professionals. The program was developed through a partnership between the Departments of Higher Education (DHE) and Early Education and Care (EEC.) The $15 million ECE Loan Repayment Program is designed to support workforce retention by reducing the financial burden of student loan debt for eligible educators across a variety of settings. This includes those working in Family Child Care (FCC), center-based programs, after school and out-of-school time (ASOST) programs, residential placement programs and contracted FCC systems who work directly with children, families, or other educators.
