It’s tax season, so it’s time to think about tax savings for families.Thousands of Massachusetts families could be eligible for cash that could help cover rent, groceries, and other essentials.
Here are some resources that provide key details:
•The state of Massachusetts explains its Child and Family Tax Credit here. And details about an information session that will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 6 p.m. is posted here.
• The Healthy Families Tax Credit Coalition—one of The Early Childhood Agenda’s coalition partners—has information on its website, as well as details on its advocacy priorities.
• Earlier this month on Strategies for Children’s 9:30 Call, Charlotte Bruce and Carley Ruemmele of the Healthy Families Tax Credits Coalition shared information about the Earned Income Tax Credit, Child and Family Tax Credit, and FindYourFunds.org, a website that provides information on:
- tax credits
- where and how to file your taxes for free, and
- the answers to frequently asked tax-related questions
This presentation explains what tax credits are, what credits are available from Massachusetts and from the federal government, and who is eligible.

• And this evening on The 9:30 Call en español, Angela Divaris and Luz Arevalo, senior attorneys at Greater Boston Legal Services and members of the Healthy Families Tax Credits Coalition will also share information about available tax credit programs.
To join the 9:30 Call, visit our webpage, click the orange registration button, and complete the form. You will receive an email with the Zoom link. We use the same Zoom link for all 9:30 calls.
Please help us promote these family-friendly tax policies by sharing this information with families and with your personal and professional networks!
